Portland to Paris - Query letter
They were not looking for love, but found it; online.
Both of them, middle-aged writers, both of them stuck in a passionless relationship of many years.
Portland
For Max, a successful soap opera writer, it is easy to hide behind his computer screen and show only that side of himself that does not seem to struggle with feelings.
Paris
Zoë, a failed writer of children’s books, struggles with most things in life except love, she feels the nine hours and the ocean between them will keep her safe from getting hurt by love.
On-line
But love knows no on and off line.
This virtual connection, for both of them, is very real; real, but out of reach.
Off-line
When Max’s wife becomes very ill, he cuts his lifeline with love, leaving Zoë in the dark, right at a time where she needs a friend.
Zoë, hurt and confused escapes her life.
Love
Love is never lost, or so they say.
After Max’s wife’s death he goes to find out if the old saying holds true.
Would you be so kind and let me know if I may send you a copy of this script; Portland to Paris.
