Portland to Paris - Review

Portland to Paris is an unorthodox screenplay, but what’s so curious is that the premise itself feels very conventional. From that logline it feels like a rom-com full of misunderstandings probably starring two charming actors, the sort of film that feels very buy-the-numbers. What I’m impressed with is how you took this sort of cliché idea of romantic pen pals and went somewhere else with it. You made it more of a slow-burning philosophical drama about love and wanting, and I thought this was an excellent way to circumvent expectation, which is always a great thing to do in your screenplay.

Overall, this script is oozing ambition, its characters eventually become fascinating (plus they’re not the usual romantic demographic, which is nice), and you do a good job with the formatting and utilizing white space to your advantage.

I think you can have a real unorthodox contender here. Good luck!
